15-SELECT

Head Coach: Len Niemiec

Assistant Coach: Christa Tucker

Seasons at WJV:  This is my first year coaching at Wisconsin Juniors and I really enjoy the club's strong and consistent culture across every player and coach.

Coaching Experience: Over 15 years of experience coaching a variety of sports, including 7 years coaching volleyball.   Coaching is a passion for me.   I love to see players improve and teams come together to achieve something greater than they thought was possible.   Sports provide a great opportunity for young athletes to build the skills and experiences that will help them be successful throughout their life.

Playing Experience: I have been a multi-sport competitive athlete for as long as I can remember, and that includes volleyball, basketball, baseball, football, soccer, distance running, and triathlon.

Education and Career:  I have an industrial engineering degree from UW-Madison and I am currently the IT Director of Applications at Purpose Built Brands (previously known as Weimann Products) in Gurnee, IL

Family: I live in Oak Creek, WI and my wife, Sherry, and we have been married for nearly 25 years.   We we have three children: Michael, a senior in college, Sarah, a freshman in college, and Grace, a Sophomore in high school.

Favorite Sports Memory:  Coaching my daughter's team and winning the Seton Volleyball tournament 2 years ago.    After a back-and-forth, best-of-5 semi-finals match against the most dominant team in the tournament, they found a way to overcome their fears and nerves to win the deciding set 16-14.   I never saw so many tears of joy at one time EVER!!   The next day, they swept the regular season champion with ease, and experienced a joyous and proud moment that they will never forget.   They were a special and fortunate team that had the right mix of attitude, hard work, teamwork, talent, and support for each other.

Favorite Quotes: "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing"  - Pele

and "Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today" - Jordan Peterson

Favorite Athlete:  Michael Jordan - watch "The Last Dance" series on Netflix and see the work he CHOSE to do to be a 6-time world champion and the greatest basketball player in history.

Family: I was born in Lake Forest, IL, and moved to Kenosha when I was 3.5 years old. I live with my mom and grandparents. They have supported me through all my years of volleyball. You will probably see them at local tournaments!

Favorite Sports Memory: My senior year was definitely a whirlwind of feelings. My favorite memory, although sad, was making it to sectional finals. Even though we didn’t win, it was still exciting. With the history of Indian Trail, we had never made it farther than regional finals. With my senior year it felt like I was living a dream. This entire season was filled with amazing memories that I couldn’t just pick one.
